The Super Puff₂O™

As Technical Designer on this franchise, I contributed to functional design integration, construction engineering, and trim system development across the platform. The original Super Puff system prioritized warmth and volume, but revealed limitations in prolonged wet-weather performance, seam integrity, and insulation reliability in saturated conditions.

This project explored how to evolve the platform into a fully waterproof down system without compromising thermal efficiency, mobility, or silhouette integrity. The development focused on balancing weather protection with insulation performance through refined construction architecture, improved seam strategy, and targeted system-level adjustments to reduce moisture vulnerability.

Emphasis was placed on maintaining consistent loft and thermal stability under wet conditions while preserving the clean structural identity of the Super Puff silhouette. This work also contributed to co-invented design patents developed within the franchise, reflecting novel approaches to waterproof insulated garment construction and system integration.
